An NHS OpenAthens account gives you access to electronic books, ejournals and databases from any computer.
Register at work to get your account details emailed straight away.
You can also register from your PC at home but it will take up to 15 days for your account details to be emailed.
NHS OpenAthens accounts last for two years. You will then need to re-register.
If you already have an OpenAthens account via a University, an NHS OpenAthens account will offer you different or additional resources.

You can access around 2000 healthcare related journals with your OpenAthens password.
To find individual titles in an A-Z list click here.
You can also find print journal holdings in local NHS libraries at www.swims.nhs.uk
Try www.freemedicaljournals.com if you cannot find the titles you require.
If you want specific articles which you cannot access, please ask the library using the inter-library loans request service (see Library Services tab, left).
A range of databases is available including Medline, CINAHL, Embase, BNI, PsycInfo, AMED, HMIC, and Health Business Elite.
