Salisbury District Hospital meets 18 week treatment target

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust  has achieved the 18 week referral to treatment target ahead of the national December target date.

At the end of June, 92% of patients admitted to Salisbury District Hospital had their initial outpatient appointment, any diagnostic procedures and treatment,  all within 18 weeks of  their GP referring them to hospital. The same applied to 96% of patients who received their treatment as an outpatient.

Nationally,  90% of admitted patients and 95%  of non admitted patients will need to be completing the pathway by 31 December 2008.

Peter Hill , Acting Chief Executive said: “ The Trust is committed to reducing waiting times for patients who need treatment  at  Salisbury District Hospital, whether they need this as an inpatient, day case or outpatient. Early achievement of the 18 weeks target is key to this success, with plans to reduce  waiting times further.”
