Hospital IT Manager Celebrates Master’s World Cup Hockey Win

Salisbury District Hospital IT Support Manager and national over 50s hockey goalkeeper Linda Dunham is celebrating success following England’s win in the inaugural Lady Master’s World Cup.

Linda Dunham

Linda (51) has a good track record in international hockey having represented  England for the last five years in the over 45s category. This year the team had already won the Home Nations tournament in Edinburgh, and then beat a well fancied New Zealand side on their way to becoming World Champions with a  2.0 win against Australia in the final.

Linda said: “The World Cup was the largest Master’s hockey event ever staged in England and was a fantastic exhibition of top class hockey,  with many former professional internationals taking part and players who still regularly play top league hockey.

Linda has worked at Salisbury District Hospital for 17 years having started as Helpdesk Manager in 1995. Since then she has worked her way up within the IT department and is now responsible for IT system design and future IT developments.

Linda said: “ It was such a fantastic experience to win the World Cup and to know that you are actually a World Champion. All the team are really proud of what they have achieved and we are looking forward to defending our title next time in Germany “
