Chief Operating Officer Peter Hill has been appointed Interim Chief Executive of Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and will lead the organisation going forward following the resignation on 5 September 2012 of Caspar Ridley who has decided to leave the Trust to pursue other opportunities.
Mr Hill has considerable experience as an Executive and at Chief Executive level itself where he has carried out this role in an interim capacity in Salisbury and on secondment to the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases. He has a clinical background and joined the hospital in 1986 where he has since managed every aspect of hospital life.
Peter Hill said: “This is a challenging period for the NHS, but we have a good reputation and high quality clinical staff who provide excellent standards of care. They are supported by great administrative and ancillary support teams and very experienced executive and managerial teams. It’s important that we continue to maintain the high standards we have set ourselves over the years and I will be looking to build on our strengths as we continue to move forward.”
Luke March, Chairman of Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Caspar for his contribution and wish him well for the future. Peter Hill will provide continuity in leadership, an in-depth knowledge of the organisation and the skills we need for this period and I am delighted that he is taking up the role of Interim Chief Executive.”
