Stars Appeal supporters will have an opportunity to see the new Children’s Unit at Salisbury District Hospital at a special ‘preview’ event on March 5.
The new unit will shortly be completed within the main hospital and children’s services moved away from older buildings into first-class modern facilities based on level three and four of the existing hospital.
Thanks to the support of the local community, the Stars Appeal’s Caring 4 Kids campaign successfully raised £1million to fund additional facilities for the new Unit, which includes home from home rooms, therapy facilities for children with disabilities, a multi-sensory room, as well as indoor and outdoor play areas.
Dave Cates, Director of Fundraising at Salisbury District Hospital said: "The new Unit is now close to completion and, as a thank you, we wanted to acknowledge the tremendous support and generosity of local people by holding a preview event. This will give our supporters an opportunity to see how we’ve used the £1million they have raised through the Caring 4 Kids Campaign and to view the new facilities prior to the children moving in."
The preview is invitation only. However, all Stars Appeal supporters are welcome to attend. Please contact Gemma Heath on
