Patients will be able to enjoy a wider choice of programmes on hospital radio thanks to the introduction of a second £4,000 state-of- the-art studio funded by the Salisbury Hospital League of Friends.
Radio Odstock has been broadcasting to patients for over 60 years providing a range of music, dedications and chat.
Radio Odstock President Dave Langrish, said: “We are enormously grateful to the League of Friends for their generous contribution. The new studio is fitted out with the latest recording equipment which will enable us to provide a wider range of programmes and a better sound quality for our patients.”
The new studio was officially opened by League of Friends Chairman George Todd during a day of live broadcasts.
George Todd said: "Radio Odstock has, for many years, helped patients through what can be a stressful time in their lives, and it is therefore with great pleasure that the League of Friends has been able to purchase this equipment for Radio Odstock so that they can not only continue, but also expand this service."
