The Trust is one of a number of organisations in the South West which has joined the SW Pay Terms and Conditions Consortium. This has been established in response to the serious financial and operational challenges facing the NHS.
The project is specifically looking at how our largest expenditure, staff pay, can be better designed to help ensure financial health and sustain clinical services now and in the future. The consortium has not developed any proposals. Over the coming few months, the group will develop more detailed plans.
We are committed to engaging with our own staff side representatives and staff on any recommendations that are developed in the future.
Information was shared with Trade Union representatives and staff have also been briefed within their own areas. We have also provided information through our own normal communication channels.
While we have no information about actual proposals, we have held open staff briefings, which gave staff information on the steps we would want to take regarding staff engagement on any recommendations in the future.
We will also ensure that our staff are kept fully informed of any developments as soon as we have new information.
