Plastic surgeon to give Batman a run for his money

Plastic surgeon Richard Cole will swap his white coat and a scalpel for the cape and mask of Batman when he takes to the streets in the London Marathon on April 26 in aid of the Salisbury League of Friends.

Richard is no stranger to the London Marathon having played the part of the caped crusader in his last run in 2003.  Surgery on a damaged metatarsal last year delayed his come back run.

Richard Cole said: “ I’m gradually getting my foot back into shape and I’m up to around 14-15 miles at the moment,  so I should be fully fit  for the big run in April. I’ve done four marathons before, including London twice,  with a personal best of 3 hours 30 minutes. However, with injuries, I doubt whether I’ll be able to match that this time. ”

George Todd, Chairman of the Salisbury League of Friends said: “We are thrilled at the support that Richard is giving to the League.  If anyone would like to sponsor Richard, contributions should be sent to him care of  the League of  Friends shop at Salisbury District Hospital. Please mark letters with the ‘Batman Fund’ and make cheques payable to Salisbury League of Friends.” Ends
