It funds extra care and equipment over and above that provided by the NHS. The Appeal benefits all wards and departments. It also raises money for major projects. In 2007, thanks to the generous support of the local community, the Appeal funded advanced equipment for premature and critically ill babies and an advanced keyhole cancer surgery suite.
The Caring 4 Kids campaign is raising £1million to help create a state-of-the-art children's facility at the Hospital which will treat over 6,000 children each year. The Caring 4 Kids campaign will fund a range of additional facilities and equipment within the centre including parents' accommodation, dedicated long stay rooms for children with serious illnesses, indoor and outdoor play areas and a multi sensory room for children with disabilities.
