Staff win customer care awards for friendliness and devotion to patients 

Staff in the Day Surgery Unit have won the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust Customer Care team award for the second year running for the friendly and efficient way they look after people coming in for treatment.


The Day Surgery team pick up the Customer Care Team Award 

Staff education administrator Helen Rynne won the individual award for customer care. Helen provides invaluable support to staff who are carrying out  training that improves services for patients. 


Nominations for the Customer Care Awards came from patients, visitors and staff and focused on the way in which staff have dealt with other people. In particular, whether they were welcoming or who had gone that extra mile to help others. Presentations for customer care were given at the Trust’s Striving for Excellence Awards.


Matthew Kershaw, Chief Executive of Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said: “Good customer care has an essential part to play in the overall care we provide for patients, as the way in which people are treated when they come into Salisbury District Hospital is so important to them.”


“This year we received so many wonderful comments about our staff and I would like to congratulate the winners and to thank the many teams and individual members of staff  who have done that little bit extra for their patients or colleagues.”


The full list of winners and runners up are as follows:

  • Individual Winner - Helen Rynne (Education Department). Joint Runners Up -  Peter Batstone (Amesbury Ward), Cathy Tymms ( Acute Pain Team) and Melvyn Thorne (Facilities Department)
  • Team Winner - Day Surgery Unit. Runner Up - Orthopaedics. Third Place - Downton Ward
