The staff training package will cover areas such as infection prevention and control, risk management and equality and diversity and is designed to offer staff education that complements their professional occupational training.
The package also links to all roles and responsibilities and supports other training initiatives in these areas.
Janine Osmond, Head of Learning Development for Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said:
"Highly motivated and well trained staff are key to providing first class care for our patients, which is why we are committed to the ongoing investment in staff education and training."
"Whether they are doctors, nurses, therapists or staff from our essential support services such as cleaners, porters and administrative staff, each member of staff has a role to play in providing good quality safe care and treatment for our patients."
Continuing education and training for staff across all professional and non-professional roles forms a key part of the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust plans. It drives up standards, reduces risk and gives staff a better understanding of the particular needs of patients. It also ensures that the Trust continues to attract the best possible staff to the area.
For staff it enables them to expand on their existing skills and knowledge and ensures that they have real opportunities for career and personal development.
Mrs Osmond said: "We are particularly excited about these training packages because they have been developed specifically for our needs and have never been used by anyone else before. They are interactive, interesting and flexible, allowing staff to learn at the their own speed at work or at home." Ends
