Mr Vye wanted to give something back to the hospital as his sons were born there and cancer care has touched his family. He chose to support the appeal when he joined other Wilton Rotarians at the launch event at Wilton House on February 2.
Giles Vye and Sons is an independent residential estate agency, which started around 12 years ago in Downton. The practice is now run from its city centre office in Castle Street and sells properties within a 20-mile radius of Salisbury, which Mr Vye believes offers a much wider coverage for his growing client base.
Dave Cates, Director of Fundraising at Salisbury District Hospital said: "This really is a very generous offer and we are very grateful to Giles for his generosity, and to his staff for their support of the appeal."
The Stars Appeal is an ongoing appeal with individual campaigns and fundraising efforts conducted under the umbrella of the Stars Appeal logo. The first two have started already and they are the Little Lives Campaign and the Keyhole Cancer Campaign. The Little Lives Campaign aims to raise £100,000 for new state-of-the-art equipment that will help newborn babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The Keyhole Cancer Campaign is looking to raise £300,000 to equip a dedicated keyhole cancer operating theatre.
