Ottons Land Rover gears up to sponsor Walk for Wards

Ottons Land Rover has signed up as the official sponsor of this year's Walk for Wards – the annual sponsored walk around the beautiful Wilton Estate.

Suzy Otton (Marketing Manager) and Steve Collins (Sales Executive) get ready for Walk for Wards.

The walk, which takes place on Sunday, June 24 offers participants a choice of a two or six-mile route, and is one of the major events raising money for the Salisbury District Hospital Stars Appeal.

Ottons are based at Old Sarum Park on the outskirts of Salisbury. The company has been working with Land Rover for over 45 years. This began in Cranborne in Dorset. A move to Verwood in the 1970s was followed by the award of full Land Rover main dealer status in the early 1980s, and the current premises opened in 1989.

Suzy Otton, Ottons Marketing Manager, said: "The team at Ottons Land Rover is committed to ensuring Land Rover ownership is a pleasure, and you are always welcome in the Showroom."

Dave Cates, Director of Fundraising at Salisbury District Hospital said: "It's great news that Ottons have come on board by sponsoring this major fundraising event and we are very grateful for their help"

The Stars Appeal is an ongoing appeal with individual campaigns and fundraising efforts conducted under the umbrella of the Stars Appeal logo. The first two have started already and they are the Little Lives Campaign and the Keyhole Cancer Campaign. The Little Lives Campaign aims to raise £100,000 for new state-of-the-art equipment that will help newborn babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The Keyhole Cancer Campaign is looking to raise £300,000 to equip a dedicated keyhole cancer operating theatre.

Dave Cates said: "Walk for Wards takes place at the home of Appeal President Lord Pembroke and is one of the key fundraising highlights of the year. So far over 650 people have signed up to take part with many more showing interest by the day."

The walk starts at 10.15am, and will cover some parts of the estate not normally open to the public. Participants will gain entry to the grounds, a ploughman's lunch, access to the Wilton House gardens - all free to those raising the minimum sponsorship of £15 per person.

There will be no registration on the day, so if you do want to take part please register at or give the Appeal office a call on 01722 429005. ENDS
