This special event aims to attract families from across Wiltshire, west Hampshire and north Dorset who are served by Salisbury District Hospital’s children’s services, so that they can find out more about the campaign and enjoy the beautiful grounds and adventure playground at Wilton House.
In addition, there will be a range of other fun activities and attractions, including miniature London bus rides, a duck race, treasure hunt, face painting, donkey rides and entertainment from E Minor and the Ticklish Allsorts.
Dave Cates, Director of Fundraising said: “We are grateful to Lord Pembroke and all at Wilton Estate for allowing us the use of their grounds to showcase this new Appeal, which will benefit thousands of local children. As well as the beautiful surroundings and superb adventure playground there’ll be lots of fun activities for children of all ages. It will be a great day out and we look forward to welcoming local people to this great local attraction.”
The Caring 4 Kids campaign aims to fund a range of additional facilities and equipment within a new children’s centre at Salisbury District Hospital. These will include parents’ accommodation, a multi-sensory therapy room, indoor and outdoor play areas, special rooms for children with cancer and those requiring high dependency care.
Chris Rolfe, Estate Director at Wilton House said: “We are delighted to be supporting this event, which will help launch the Stars Appeal’s new Caring 4 Kids Campaign. Many local children and their families are regular visitors to the house and grounds, so the Appeal is very relevant to our customers and we are all looking forward to a great event.”
Entry to the Wilton House Grounds normally costs £5 for adults, £3.50 for children or £15 for a family of four. However this Sunday, special rates will apply with all children being admitted free, and adults being asked for a £3 donation towards the Stars Appeal’s Caring 4 Kids Campaign.
The event is being sponsored by The Best of Salisbury, a local website which promotes businesses in Salisbury and the local area.
