Services for which the authority is entitled to recover a fee
As an NHS hospital, income is gained by charging commissioners for the services which we provide to our patients. Charges relating to patient care are based on the national Payment by Results (PbR) Tariff. This is publicly available, and can be downloaded from the Department of Health website
Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust makes charges for parking and for a range of catering facilities
In addition, patients can choose to pay for bedside entertainment and communication services These services are provided by Hospedia, who will charge patients directly for the services.
The Salisbury Fertility Centre is an NHS fertility clinic which also provides care to patients who choose to fund their own treatment. Details of current charges are displayed on the Fertility Centre's web pages, and can be accessed via this link.
The Trust does provide a number of clinical and non clinical services for which fees are recovered. These fees are commonly based on commercial contracts which are individually negotiated. Most of these charges are commercially sensitive, so are exempt from the requirement to be available in the public domain.
