On-site Smoking Policy
Please may we remind patients and visitors that we aim to discourage smoking. The Trust recognises that in some instances people will continue to smoke. This is strictly limited to six areas across the site where smoke will not affect the health of other people.
People who are found smoking in any other area will be asked to stop. E-cigarettes and their derivatives can only be used outside of our buildings. The six areas where smoking tobacco is accepted are:
- On the footpath opposite the south corridor near the FES centre car park (shelter)
- Between the Hedgerows dining room and the IT Department (shelter)
- By the Spinal Unit hydrotherapy pool (area)
- On the A&E ramp (area)
- To the front of the Hospital Main Entrance (shelter)
- Beside the Porters’ Lodge (shelter)
For patients of the Hospice ONLY, arrangements may be made on a case-by-case basis. Please speak to Hospice staff.
Smoking Damages Health
We actively discourage smoking and promote health by supporting patients, visitors and staff who want to give up smoking. Our policy on non-smoking applies to everyone. For friendly advice and help to give up smoking, please contact our smoke stop advisor on 07825 385858.
