Losing weight

Maintaining a healthy weight range is an important factor in good health and affects how you look and feel. Being overweight can increase your chances of:

  • having a heart attack
  • developing diabetes
  • having high blood pressure
  • certain cancers.

Our body mass index indentifies whether we are too heavy, too light, or in the appropriate weight range.  An individual person's body mass index (BMI) is dependent on a number of factors including sex and height. The following links will provide more information on body mass index, losing weight and eating healthily.
