1st Anniversary of Salisbury City Hall Vaccination Centre

Salisbury City Hall COVID-19 vaccination centre celebrates its first anniversary today. Over the last twelve months the vaccination centre, operated by Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, has delivered over 200,000 vaccinations.

Fiona Hyett, Operational Director of the Salisbury Vaccination Programme said:

“When we first opened our doors last year, we soon became the primary vaccination hub for the South Wiltshire area.  In the first three months we vaccinated 20,000 people and in the next three 80,000. We have now administered over 200,000 vaccinations and seen, on average, over 500 people a day. Over the past year our dedicated team of NHS staff and volunteers, not forgetting the military personnel who have helped us, has risen to every challenge encountered. I’m immensely grateful to them and proud of everything we have achieved.”

“We know COVID-19 vaccination saves lives, so it is rewarding to know our work has made a real difference.”

“While there has been a tremendous response from eligible people in our community who have come forward to get the COVID-19 vaccinations, there are many who have not, which is estimated at five million people across the UK. We urge everyone to get the vaccination if you’re eligible to help keep yourself, your family and our community safe.”

“The Salisbury City Hall Vaccination Centre team has delivered fantastic results. Salisbury is only a small city and yet the team has sustained an incredible level of vaccination activity, daily.
