Salisbury District Hospital A&E under pressure

Our A&E is currently under intense pressure.

We encourage our local community to help reduce pressure on the hospital, and only attend A&E if they are experiencing a life threatening condition. Alternatives to A&E include the Salisbury Walk In Centre and NHS 111: https://111.nhs.uk/ and by phone. For minor illness local community pharmacists can provide advice and a range of over-the-counter medicine and treatments.

We ask for your support as we work to improve the flow of patients through the hospital. If you have friends or family waiting to be discharged please try to respond quickly to calls about their ongoing care at home or in another setting. Please don’t visit the hospital site unless strictly necessary. The hospital is open and patients should attend all appointments as normal unless directly contacted by the hospital. If you must attend A&E, please be patient as staff will prioritise those with the most urgent and critical needs.
