They each provide care in all aspects of haematology.
Dr Grand is the temporary lead clinician for both haematology and oncology.
The medical team is supported by the Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist with responsibility for co-ordination of our research programme and transplant service. The Clinical Nurse Specialists at the hospital are:

There is also a dedicated anticoagulation service led by nurse specialist. This service supports patients on warfarin and other blood thinning drugs, initiates treatment of acute deep venous thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE) and provides counselling for patients with thrombophilia.

Haematology Cancer Support Workers
The Cancer Support Team (based within Salisbury Hospital) are here to support your cancer diagnosis and treatment, alongside the Clinical Nurse Specialists and Consultants.
What we do:
- Support you, and your family from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.
- Offer Holistic Needs Assessment (HNA) which can help you highlight any practical, social, emotional, financial or spiritual concerns you are worried about.
- Offer you an individual care plan to meet your support needs.
- Facilitate and recommend health and well-being events to help support and inform you following on from a diagnosis.
- Refer or signpost to other services and community groups.
- Liaise with other healthcare professionals involved in your care.
- Coordinate follow up surveillance programmes.
