Familiarise yourself with the Hospital site and departments so that you know your way around

Meet your local team for your ‘local induction’

The goal is for your department or line manager to give you a local induction to familiarise you with your ward or department, introduce you to your colleagues and help you find your way around.  Line managers will normally meet with you as soon as possible after you start to explain your role.

A local induction checklist is available here PDF, giving you and your manager prompts of useful topics to discuss.

New starters will also have a nominated ‘buddy’, another member of staff that can help you to settle in.

Our staff at Salisbury District Hospital have long been well regarded for the quality of care and treatment they provide for our patients and for their innovation, commitment and professionalism. This has been recognised in a wide range of achievements and it is reflected in our award of NHS Foundation Trust status. This is afforded to hospitals that provide the highest standards of care.
