Hospital Services Remain Busy - Here’s How You Can Get the Care You Need

Our hospital is currently experiencing very high demand, which means some patients may face longer waiting times than usual. Our clinical teams are prioritising those who are most seriously unwell, and while we are working hard to see everyone as quickly as possible, delays may occur. If your condition is not urgent or life‑threatening, you may find faster and more convenient care through other local services. Using the most appropriate service helps ensure that emergency care is available for those who need it most.

Choosing the right service for your needs

You have several options locally, depending on the type of care you require:

• NHS 111 - for advice if you’re unsure where to go.
• Local pharmacies - expert support for many common conditions, no appointment needed.
• Salisbury Walk‑In Centre - open 18:30–22:00 on weekdays and 08:00–20:00 at weekends. You do not need to ne registered to get an appointment.
• Minor Injuries Unit in Andover/Blandford/Shaftesbury/Wimborne - for minor head injuries, simple fractures, and facial or eye injuries.
• Your GP practice - for ongoing or non‑urgent health concerns.
• Out of Hours Dentist - (accessed through NHS111)
• Mental Health Crisis Teams - (Call 111 and press ‘2’)
