Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust has launched a public engagement process about plans to build a new Diagnostic and Surgical Hub (DASH) on Salisbury District Hospital’s site. Subject to approval of the final business case, the new building will include five operating theatres, MRI and CT scanners, and four endoscopy rooms. The hub has been designed as the best opportunity to separate planned care from urgent and emergency services while making the most effective use of the hospital site. It will help to improve patient flow, reduce delays and enhance the experience for both patients and staff.
Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust Managing Director Nick Johnson said: “This is a major milestone and represents a significant investment in the future of our hospital. The new facility will replace our ageing surgical facilities, expand our diagnostic capacity, and provide modern, purpose-built environments that will enable us to see patients more quickly and deliver high-quality care for many years to come.”
The Trust expects to submit a planning application to Wiltshire Council in July, with construction anticipated to begin in early 2027.

There also will be an exhibition display in the hospital’s Springs Restaurant, and at Salisbury Guildhall, there will be a drop-in event on Tuesday 7th July, 10:00am - 6.30pm, which is an opportunity to meet the project team and ask questions.
