Other Clinical Staff

Orthopaedic Therapy Team

Katharine Wilcocks - is the Therapy Lead for the Orthopaedic Department.

Reno Defeo - is the Lead Therapist for the inpatient Orthopaedic Therapy Team. The team included Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who work across the Orthopaedic wards providing rehabilitation, promoting independence and facilitating safe discharge.

Our Advanced Practice Physiotherapists (APPs) are specialist clinicians who have undertaken additional Orthopaedic training. They work alongside the Consultants within the Orthopaedic Outpatient clinics here at Salisbury District Hospital. During your clinic appointment, the APP will carry out an assessment of your problem and if necessary, organise further investigations (e.g. X-Ray, MRI). Please wear suitable clothing to allow assessment of the relevant part of your body. Some investigations such as MRI scans cannot be carried out in clinic and a further appointment for this will be organised. The outcome of the assessment and the results of any investigations will be discussed with you. The available treatment options will be explained to you. If further intervention such as an injection or surgery is indicated, this will be discussed with you during the clinic appointment and also with the consultant if required. If other management options are more appropriate e.g. onward referral to other services, this can also be organised for you.
