Answer To Question 8:
0.8 wte band 4 diabetes team administrator
The team administrator is the first point of contact for anything non urgent for patients. She monitors our team email address, organises clinics and reminds patients when their appointments are. She manages our patient information and ensures that all patients receive the right information at the right time (either via email, hard copy, digibete notifications). She organises peer support events. She also manages the day to day organisation of the service including capturing data for NPDA – so that the clinical members of the diabetes team are freed up to spend more time on direct patient care.

Question Number 9:
Does your Paediatric service use Dendrite or Twinkle software, or both, to capture patient data?

Answer To Question 9:
We don’t use dentrite or twinkle to capture patient data – we have an inhouse database for capturing the same data and submitting to the NPDA

Question Number 10:
What methods of accessibility to you have for patients whose first language is not English?

Answer To Question 10:
We have access to interpreters for booked outpatient clinic appointments and access to language line for anything more urgent. We have a limited range of written material in languages other than English and ask the national network for help when we need anything more. We routinely use the translate function on the digibete website where there is information that would be helpful on there (this does not provide subtitles for videos). We struggle with providing an open access telephone service for patients who cannot speak English well enough to have an ad hoc telephone conversation.
