Question Number 1: I am writing to formally request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding the use of mechanical ventilation within your hospital trust, specifically for patients undergoing an MRI scan and those requiring in-hospital transportation while intubated. Please provide responses to the following questions: What is the current policy for mechanical ventilation of patients undergoing an MRI scan within your NHS trust? | |
Answer To Question 1: The Trust follow the following guidance Association of Anaesthetics, Intensive Care Society and inhouse SOPs | |
Question Number 2: Which department has the primary responsibility for overseeing the mechanical ventilation of patients in the MRI suite? Is it the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or the MRI department? | |
Answer To Question 2: The primary responsibility is shared between ICU and Theatres | |
Question Number 3: Which mechanical ventilators are currently used when conducting MRI scans on patients within your MRI department? | |
Answer To Question 3: The Trust currently use Hamilton and Draeger Ventilators | |
Question Number 4: Please provide the make, model, and age of the current mechanical transport ventilators used within your trust. | |
Answer To Question 4: Transport ventilators, we have several in use they are Hamilton T1 oldest 12 years newest 3 years old, we also have a Hamilton C1 which is 10 years old, Draeger 3000+ which is 4 years old | |
