Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request the following information regarding the ophthalmology services and IT systems used within your Trust: Ophthalmology Department & IT Record System a) Does your Trust have an ophthalmology department and/or provide ophthalmology clinics? b) If so, what is the name of the principal IT record system used to document results from patient consultations within ophthalmology? | |

Question Number 5: Image Storage & Viewing Capabilities a) What is the storage capacity and retention policy for ophthalmology-related imaging within the IT system? b) If images are not viewable within the principal IT system, does the Trust use a separate PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) for ophthalmology imaging? | |
Answer To Question 5: a) the storage capacity is managed centrally and thus technically there is no limit as we will extend capacity as needed. Adult records – Retain for 8 years Children and young people – Retain until the patient’s 25th birthday or26th if young person was 17 at conclusion of treatment, or 8 years after death b) No | |
