| Question Number 3: In relation to your sustainability activities: 3.1. what are the Trust’s priorities in regard to a net zero pathway? 3.2. what carbon reporting you have in place, or plans to put in place? 3.3. please provide the contact details for the Energy, ESG or Sustainability lead within the Trust. | |
| Answer To Question 3: 3.1. what are the Trust’s priorities in regard to a net zero pathway? Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is committed to supporting the NHS ambition to become the world’s first net zero national health service. Our key priorities include: • Reducing emissions from our estate and infrastructure through energy efficiency measures, including LED lighting upgrades, improved building management systems, and the development of heat decarbonisation plans. • Transitioning to low and zero-carbon energy sources, such as exploring opportunities for on-site renewable energy generation and procuring green electricity. • Decarbonising transport through electrification of the fleet where possible, promoting active travel, and encouraging sustainable travel behaviour among staff. • Embedding sustainability into clinical practice and procurement to address supply chain emissions and reduce the environmental impact of care delivery. • Engaging staff and stakeholders to drive cultural change and integrate sustainability across all Trust operations. 3.2. what carbon reporting you have in place, or plans to put in place? The Trust currently provides environmental and energy data through the NHS Estates Return Information Collection (ERIC). This includes information on energy consumption, waste, water usage, and transport. NHS England uses this data to support national carbon reporting. In addition, the Trust is developing more detailed carbon reporting aligned with NHS Net Zero guidance. This includes reporting on Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions (energy use and transport), and progressively improving reporting on Scope 3 emissions (procurement, waste, water, and other indirect sources). The Trust’s Green Plan outlines a pathway to enhance data quality and transparency through standardised NHS reporting tools and improved internal monitoring processes. 3.3. please provide the contact details for the Energy, ESG or Sustainability lead within the Trust. For any queries relating to sustainability, energy, or environmental matters, please contact: Ian Robinson, Sustainability Lead | |
