Question Number 1: We are requesting information about how you report the carbon footprint of your medicines to assist us in developing solutions to support the NHS Net Zero strategy. This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. The questions below relate to medicines carbon footprint reporting for Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust in 2024. Question 1: Do you calculate the carbon footprint of medicines? Answer 1: Yes/No

Answer To Question 1: Medicines comes under Scope 3 of carbon footprint and we aren't yet reporting on that as that net zero target date is 2045. "We are mirroring the Greener NHS definitions of ‘carbon footprint’ and ‘carbon footprint plus’ which were published in their Delivering a Net Zero NHS Strategy. We are working towards measuring these emissions and will set interim targets for reduction to track progress towards the target of Net Zero by 2040 for the NHS Carbon Footprint. " We do not calculate this at the present time.
