Frank Cunnane joined the Salisbury NHS Trust as a governor in June 2023. Frank has been working in the media and entertainment business with Sony Pictures for ten years as Senior Vice President, Regional CIO EMEA, and head of Global Content Technology, before that Frank worked within Sony Electronics for thirteen years as Senior Vice President, Regional CIO EMEA & North America. Prior to that Frank worked with several global software companies and consultancies in various capacities across the globe.
Frank’s connection with Salisbury NHS Trust started in October 2016 with a late diagnosis of leukaemia (CLL), followed by treatment and a long road to recovery. As such, Frank has spent a great deal of time in and out of the hospital over several years – giving him an understanding and an insight into patient care and the services provided.
Now seven years in remission, Frank wanted to ensure he has the opportunity to learn more about the Trust and its operations, as well as give something back in support of the Trust and the wider local community, hence applying to be a governor.

This has been recognised in a wide range of achievements and it is reflected in our award of NHS Foundation Trust status. This is afforded to hospitals that provide the highest standards of care.
