Ever wondered what is blood? How do you plaster an arm? What does an operating theatre look like? Then this Open Day is for you!

All ages welcome. Free entry. Free public parking. Free bus travel on R1 bus courtesy of Reds.

On the Green, Entrance B:

Two marquees filled with various demonstrations and displays including:

  • Bowel Cancer Screening
  • Fertility Centre
  • Oral Surgery
  • Research
  • Therapy pets (also roaming)
  • Robotic process automation
  • Face painting
  • Woodland dens with Tops Day Nursery
  • Trust Membership
  • Wessex Rehab
  • Swimming at Odstock Health & Fitness - 13:15-14:15

In the Central area:

  • Breast Unit (tours every half hour from 10:30)
  • Maternity
  • Day Surgery - Explore an operating theatre and have 'a go' at surgery
  • Radio Odstock - Broadcasting Studio 

North Level 2: 

  • SSL Instrument Management Service - Come and see how all the hospital equipment is cleaned
  • Springs Restaurant - Taste the patient menu (free samples), Help for Heros, Patient Advisory Liaison Service (PALS), recruitment, volunteers and work experience 

North Level 3:

  • BUGS - Burns and plastics
  • Childrens Outpatients/Toy Hospital - Bring your favourite teddy for a check up
  • Communications & Engagement
  • Minor injuries - Including plaster casts and bandages
  • Pathology
  • League of Friends sweet shop
  • Stars Appeal Book Shop

Outside Main Entrance:

  • Simulation Centre - Meet our lifelike simulation training manikins
