Confirming your pregnancy

It is important you take a pregnancy test to confirm you are pregnant. If you have a regular monthly menstrual cycle, a missed period is often the first sign you could be pregnant.

Early pregnancy is considered a pregnancy of under 16 weeks gestation, this can be an exciting but sometimes worrying time.

Symptoms that often occur during early pregnancy:

  • Tingling nipples
  • Feeling or being sick
  • Sore or tender breasts
  • Tiredness
  • Frequent urination
  • Heightened emotions
  • Constipation
  • Different vaginal discharge
  • Food cravings and sensitivity to certain smells

If you are concerned about any of the above symptoms, please contact your GP. For further details regarding concerns during pregnancy, please click here.
