Freedom to Speak Up

We are committed to creating an environment where staff feel supported and empowered to learn when things do not go as expected, rather than feeling blamed, and it is important that we learn from mistakes and put safeguards in place to ensure they do not occur again.

The Trust has a Freedom to Speak Up Guardian available for staff to contact if they need to speak to someone confidentially, voice concerns, or gain support and guidance.

The guardian can also act as an escalation point for people who have been unable to raise an issue through their line management, or have felt their concerns have not been acted on.

The guardian can be contacted via the email below.

This service is available to staff only. If you are not a member of staff and have any concerns or complaints, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service.

Our staff at Salisbury District Hospital have long been well regarded for the quality of care and treatment they provide for our patients and for their innovation, commitment and professionalism. This has been recognised in a wide range of achievements and it is reflected in our award of NHS Foundation Trust status. This is afforded to hospitals that provide the highest standards of care.
