Salisbury District Hospital is changing the way it provides GP-requested blood tests through its Pathology Department, which will improve patient experience and reduce waiting times. The booking system is now available for appointments from Monday 10th August, when the walk-in service will no longer be available for GP-requested blood tests. Alternatively, patients can arrange to have their blood test at their GP surgery or at the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in Salisbury City Centre.

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust has launched a public engagement process about plans to build a new Diagnostic and Surgical Hub (DASH) on Salisbury District Hospital’s site. Subject to approval of the final business case, the new building will include five operating theatres, MRI and CT scanners, and four endoscopy rooms. The hub has been designed as the best opportunity to separate planned care from urgent and emergency services while making the most effective use of the hospital site. The Centre is sited on the grounds of Salisbury District Hospital and includes two swimming pools, a fully-equipped gym, fitness classes, treatments, squash courts and meeting/function rooms.
